Aunty Jumoke Foundation For Education and Development (AJFED) is a non-government organization founded with the sole aim of closing the wide gap between the rich and the poor in accessing quality education in Nigeria.
Our organization among other initiatives create and equip libraries in orphanages provide books, atlas, dictionaries, drawing books, writing aids, story books, inspirational books and other instructional aids that can help to improve the literacy level of the less privileged to enable them to be actively engaged in reading and self skill development.
Founded by a renowned educationist and a past president of the Rotary Club of Abuja, Aunty Jumoke Foundation For Education and Development (AJFED) works with a team of committed and passionate staff, volunteers and partners who assists less privileged pupils across Nigeria to fulfill their dream of accessing quality education. Our core mandate is to give such children quality education to achieve their dreams.
Our foundation meets the educational needs of these children by setting up libraries and play playgrounds for them. We also mobilize volunteers (individual or teachers) to help the children with academic activities. We carry out massive campaigns for book donation, toys and computers that can help to develop and improve the children’s capacity.

To make inclusive and quality education available, provide educational materials and resources for all children especially the less privileged in the society irrespective of tribe, religion, gender, colour or race so they can realize their full potential.
Literacy to uplift the Less Privileged Children
A learning Physical environment can affect how students learn. It provides the students with a sense of intellectual and emotional safety.
With the support of donors like you, we can continue to provide appropriate learning environments that will hinder barriers to learning.
Provide books and literacy( or literary) materials, including educational tools like books, stationery to schools and other non conventional shelters for children in day care, orphanages, children homes, juvenile prisons and hospitals.
Sets up libraries in less privileged schools, especially in inner cities across Nigeria.
Sets up scholarship schemes for the benefit of the less privileged young boys and girls who desire higher education but are handicapped by poverty.
Renovates dilapidated classrooms and libraries.
Donates play ground equipments to support recreational activities.
Quiz and inter school competitions.
Offers Career Guidance and Counselling.
Teachers, minders and caregivers training.

Being able to read and write is essential. Written words are gateways to knowledge and opportunity that are only accessible to those with the ability to decipher them. Despite the known benefits of literacy, millions of young nigerians in low- and lower middle-income countries are unable to read a single sentence.
Without a strong foundation of literacy skills, children are more likely to struggle throughout their education, live in poverty and see their potential hampered. In the areas where we work, numerous barriers prevent students from developing the literacy skills they need to thrive. These include a lack of educational resources, minimal exposure to age-appropriate books, insufficiently trained teachers and overstretched infrastructure. We evaluate the extent of these main barriers and we will like to partner with interested organizations or individuals like you to assist schools to address the specific challenges they are facing and ensure students have what they need to develop strong literacy skills and a habit of reading.
